Ghost Hunt

This was built explicitly for the Synty Hallowwen Game Jam!

It runs much better on PC - There are some odd bugs on WebGL. 

Overview:

On Hallows Eve, time itself fractured, and the adults fell into an unshakable slumber. You, a brave child left behind, must face an unspeakable terror: an invasion of zombies and malicious ghosts from rifts that tear through your small town. With the help of your schoolmates, you must fend off the hordes of undead, capture vengeful spirits, and close the portals before the entire world succumbs to the forces of the underworld.

This is just the beginning. The rifts are spreading, the ghosts growing stronger, and the adults have yet to awaken. It’s up to you to end the nightmare.

• Dynamic ARPG Combat: Switch between melee and ranged combat seamlessly, using your shield to deflect enemy strikes or dash through danger with agility.
• Ghost Capture System: Use your tools to capture hostile ghosts after weakening them. Each ghost you trap is stored in your collection, offering unique rewards or insights into the haunting mystery.
• Creeps and Bosses: Battle relentless zombie hordes that challenge your survival skills and face off against powerful boss ghosts that threaten to tear reality apart.
• Weather and Night Cycle: Explore a dark and twisted town that shifts from dusk to dawn, with dynamic weather altering your encounters with enemies.
• Questing and Merchant Systems: Take on quests from your fellow survivors and visit the mysterious merchant for essential items, upgrades, and consumables.
• Character Creation: Pick from a range of plucky child survivors, each bringing their own flair to the fight.
• Save & Load: Keep track of your progress, as you uncover secrets and work to stop the apocalypse over multiple play sessions.

Plot Summary:

When the adults vanished into an unnatural sleep, only the children were left to face the horrors of Hallows Eve. Strange rifts have opened across town, pouring out hordes of zombies and malevolent ghosts that terrorize the streets. With no one to turn to but your friends, you must band together and fight to protect what remains of your world.

But zombies are only the beginning. Vicious spirits haunt the town, ghosts bound to the rifts and eager to claim more than just the night. You must fight, trap, and ultimately banish these entities back to their twisted dimension, or risk being consumed by the darkness yourself.

Can you survive the night and save your hometown from the ghostly threat before it’s too late?
